Ali Burgoon Nolan

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER & OWNER

Raised in Chicago with an early affinity for historic architecture, Ali earned a B.S. in Architectural Studies from the University of Missouri and spent over a decade designing for global hospitality brands before launching Studio Burgoon in Austin. Ali brings a technical expertise to every project, supported by a rigorous process, thorough documentation, and close coordination with contractors and vendors.

That hospitality background shapes everything. Studio Burgoon approaches residential projects with the same rigor typically reserved for hotels: architecture and site context act as a north star, guiding decisions from reflected ceiling plans and switching diagrams to the provenance of an antique cabinet. The result is a home that has the soul of somewhere beloved, and still feels entirely personal to the unique sensibilities of the clients who live there.

Since 2013, her portfolio has spanned luxury residential and boutique hospitality projects nationwide, with a particular affinity for mountain homes, lake houses, and second residences. Named Austin Home Magazine's Rising Star in 2026 and recognized among Austin's best interior designers from 2023–2025.

Outside the studio: film photography, chasing her latest auction find, and a lot of long-haul flights. Three of Ali's siblings live across Asia—which means her eye for makers and artisans has been shaped by places many designers never think to look.

About Studio Burgoon

At Studio Burgoon, we partner with homeowners, architects, and contractors to bring architecturally significant homes to life.

Our interiors are cohesive and functional, grounded in organic materials, sustainable sourcing, and a deep respect for the spaces we work within. We mix antiques with modern handcrafted pieces—finding the balance between a room that has something to say and one you can truly live in. The result is never a formula. It is a home that reflects who our clients are, where they have been, and how they want to live.

We are drawn to homes with history and clients who care about the details. If you have already collected art, have opinions about patina, and want a designer you can fully trust with the details—we would love to talk.
